Textile commonly known as fabric or cloth is a material consisting of woven yards or threads or artificial fibres. Yarn is produced by spinning wool, cotton, flax to produce long strands.
There are various ways to form textiles namely-

Textiles are commonly used for clothing or manufacturing bags and baskets. Most of the daily household items which we use for decoration purpose like bedcovers, mattress, carpets etc are made out of fabrics. They are also used for miscellaneous things like flags, tents, nets etc. But primarily they are used for clothes for humans or animals.
Textiles are made from four main sources namely-
- Animal:it is a natural source and we get wool, silk from them.
- Plant:It is also a natural source and we get cotton, flax, jute and bamboo from them.
- Mineral:It is too a natural source and we get asbestos, glass fibre from them.
- Synthetic:This is an artificial source where fabric is processed, and we get nylon, polyester, acrylic, rayon, spandex, acrylic etc from them.
In clothing, we get different variety of stuff from textiles like dresses, tops, bottoms, denim, skirts, ties, shirts, scarves, stoles etc. A stole is basically a band of coloured cloth, formerly made of silk but now a lot of materials are synthesized to produce the varied type of stoles. They are long but only three to four inches broad thus have a rectangular or oblong-shaped and the ends may be straight or broadened out. It is usually worn on the neck but some are styled to be draped over the shoulders or belted. However, it is different from a shawl since it is less wide. Stoles have become a trendy fashion accessory that can be used by anyone irrespective of age or figure.
